ROLES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE ZNA PUBLIC RELATIONS
In both peace and war; Public Relations practice is responsible for creating and maintaining mutual understanding between the ZNA and its publics. It is also responsible for disseminating information of military activities in order to highlight Army achievements and promote public appreciation of our capabilities, shortcomings and limitations.
Specific roles of Army Public Relations include the following:
- Mouthpiece of the ZNA – the DPR is the Army Spokesperson.
- Handling complaints from both internal and external publics.
- Production of PR publications.
- Planning and executing all PR exhibitions and shows.
- Conducting career guidance in conjunction with Careers Dept and Army Recruiting Office.
- Promoting and coordinating community assistance projects throughout the Army, together with Army Engrs and CMR.
- The latest is that of maintaining the Army website which is (www.zna.gov.zw).
